Commonwealth Edison Reporting mark CWEX

Commonwealth Edison is the the electric power utility for the Chicagoland area. They own a large fleet of coal cars that can frequently be seen throughout the Chicagoland area, often running as unit trains.

Commonwealth Edison operates several coal-powered electricity generation plants, including one near the Waukegan (Illinois) UP yard. This yard has been a convenient and effective vantage point to photograph these cars. I've attempted to photograph several adjacent cars, individually and in a group, as a possible resource for modeling. They illustrate the similarity and uniqueness of individual cars, as far as features ordered, damage rapair, maintenance artifacts, as well as weathering are concerned.
