Synopsis: Built June 1957, GM EMD GP9, EMD order number 7542, builder's number 23552, as C&NW 1735. Rebuilt with a chopped short hood by C&NW before 1970. Rebuilt September 1972 as (GP9R) and renumbered to C&NW 4501). Retired by {C&NW 12 December 1958 and sold for parts to Fox River Valley Railroad (FRV) on 12 January 1969. The FRV became part of the Wisconsin Central on 27 August 1993. --had

C&NW 1735 was rebuilt with a chopped short hood by C&NW before 1970. EMD GP9, 32 units (1725-1756), B-B, 16-567C engine, 62:15 gear ratio, 1,750 horsepower, 253,000 pounds operating weight.
