Milwaukee Road 261 had been scheduled in June 1998 to pull two 20th Century Limited day trips from Chicago to Galesburg Railroad Days and return. Due to mechanical difficulties, the Saturday trip arrived several hours late. Diesel-electric power was substituted for the return trip on Saturday evening, and the outbound morning trip on Sunday. Repairs were effected, and Milwaukee Road 261 powered the Sunday evening return trip.
