C&NW 4324: Builder's Date: Sep 1955, Builder's Number: 20682, rebuilt from GP9 by C&NW at Oelwein, Iowa in Jun 1972. EMD GP9R, 7 units, B-B, 16-567C engine, 62:15 gear ratio, 1,750 horsepower, 259,500 pounds operating weight. C&NW 4324 was built in September 1955, GM EMD GP7R, builder number 20682. Rebuilt in June 1972 by C&NW at Oelwein (Iowa). Equipped with C&NW Automatic Train Stop and Automatic Train Control on both ends to operate in either direction over the Metra commute district in Chicago.
