Former Metra bilevel commuter cars, repainted into C&NW colors, and Spaulding Tower, preserved and on display at the Illinois Railway Museum.
Spaulding Tower protected for many years the crossing of the Metra Milwaukee and the Elgin Joliet & Elgin (The "J") railroads, located west of Chicago near Elgin. It has been preserved and moved to the Illinois Railway Museum in East Union (Illinois), where it is used for train dispatching of their demonstration railroad.
Harold Kept many of his photos on sites which no longer exist. |
